My daughter graduated as a midwife this September at the age of 41 (she is the mother of the granddaughter who graduated as a paediatric nurse). We are proud beyond words that she has achieved her goal. She is a single mother of two girls and her dedication to achieving her aim in life has been incredible. There were inevitably setbacks along the way, but she got there in the end. I designed this card for her, but I have to say thank you to Frogzone of the UKS site for the stork file which I have adapted for my purposes. My daughter loved the card - it made her laugh.
I retired from my job as a legal secretary just over 10 years ago and was then able to devote a lot more time to my passion for cardmaking and scrapbooking, although I have to say that I do far more cardmaking than scrapping.
About 8 years ago I bought a craft robo and entered a whole new dimension of crafting. I started to design my own templates and have now developed my own style. When the Cameo was released with its larger capacity and deeper cutting I was in 7th heaven, apart from initial problems with the new ratchet blade (which have now been sorted).
I derive enormous pleasure from designing, cutting and assembling my designs and sharing them freely with others on the UKS site (for personal use).
I have four grandchildren, ranging in age from 23 years down to 8 years. I am enormously proud of my children and of my grandchildren. I love being a grandma - such a special relationship, quite different to a mother/child relationship. Crafting has brought me solace during difficult times and so much pleasure.
