I enjoyed designing this lacy gatefold card - I can't remember who I designed it for, but I think it was for my sister. It took me quite a while to get it as I wanted it but I did feel it was worthwhile in the end. These lacy layers (which I love to do) are quite difficult to stick onto the backing and I usually use Herma repositionable as I find it easier to reposition if I don't just get it correctly placed. I've tried a glue pen but by the time I've got to the end of the design it's drying too much at the start and won't stick properly, it also works out quite expensive to use a glue pen so I stick to the good old Herma!
I retired from my job as a legal secretary just over 10 years ago and was then able to devote a lot more time to my passion for cardmaking and scrapbooking, although I have to say that I do far more cardmaking than scrapping.
About 8 years ago I bought a craft robo and entered a whole new dimension of crafting. I started to design my own templates and have now developed my own style. When the Cameo was released with its larger capacity and deeper cutting I was in 7th heaven, apart from initial problems with the new ratchet blade (which have now been sorted).
I derive enormous pleasure from designing, cutting and assembling my designs and sharing them freely with others on the UKS site (for personal use).
I have four grandchildren, ranging in age from 23 years down to 8 years. I am enormously proud of my children and of my grandchildren. I love being a grandma - such a special relationship, quite different to a mother/child relationship. Crafting has brought me solace during difficult times and so much pleasure.
