My middle granddaughter will be 14 this month and after much racking of the old grey matter I came up with this square "broderie anglais" mat. I have threaded pink ribbon through the slots and have cuttlebugged the central square mat. I've then cut a scalloped oval mat onto which I've mounted another oval with the name and the butterfly welded to it. I devised a 6 inch square card with a fancy edge for the mat to sit on. I've glued beads on the centres of the flowers and round the scalloped edge of the central mat. It's pink so I'm sure she will like it!
