Variation on the chrysanthemum and leaf card

This is a variation on the chrysanthemum and leaf card I posted earlier in the week. The central flower is layered onto silver mirri paper which shines through where the petals are bent upwards, which gives a nice effect. The base card is a pale pink backed with a blue/mauve insert and the flower is cut from the backing card. The text is backed with silver mirri paper to give a foiled appearance. I was pleased with the finished card, but on reflection it is a little understated and would have had more impact if the backing insert and flower had been cut in a stronger colour.

A nice flat Christmas card for posting - I really don't want to be putting a large letter stamp on any of my Christmas cards so this is a "stencil" card with a backing sheet made up of blocks of colour, red, green and gold so that the colour shows through in the appropriate places.

I can't believe the amount of time I have spent trying to get this card just right, it nearly drove me demented!! Now I've got it about right I am pleased with the end result. A dear friend has a birthday coming up in November and this will be just perfect for her.
